Liberals are shameless. Utterly shameless. They think nothing of exploiting the horrific deaths of 20 young schoolchildren and 6 adults to further their agenda to de facto repeal the 2nd Amendment to the Constitution.
Within days of the tragedy in Newtown, Connecticut, Nancy Pelosi was demanding an outright ban on all "assault" weapons. Diane Feinstein was right behind her, preparing to introduce a bill that expands the definition of "assault weapon" to encompass more types of guns than ever before. New York state liberals also jumped on the bandwagon--bill S01422, too, would define assault weapons far more broadly than ever before and instantly make many commonly used hunting weapons illegal. That bill also makes it a crime to possess more than two firearms, period. And New York's Governor Andrew Cuomo has boldly stated his intentions for outright gun confiscation.
Earlier this month, a White House spokesman announced that President Obama will pursue awidespread assault weapons ban ... and by January 10, news leaked out that he was considering bypassing Congress completely, looking at executive orders or actions to accomplish the same goal.
The liberal media, casting off any appearance of objectivity whatsoever, scolded and shamed gun owners everywhere. The Journal News in New York printed the names and addresses of every licensed gun owner in two counties ... and then posted an interactive map online to make it easy to find out where they live. On January 9th, Gawker.com published a list of 446 permitted gun holders in New York City.
The outed gun owners are furious. They fear for their non-gun owning neighbors, who can now be easily identified as potential, defenseless targets for criminals. They also fear that their own homes will become targets ... for criminals looking to steal guns.
The information on who has gun permits was easy enough to get - reporters simply submitted a Freedom of Information Act request. And if a newspaper reporter can submit such a request, so can a criminal.
